If you turned off the internet right now, Anása would work exactly the same. That is the simplest way to understand this policy: there is no server for your data to go to.

The short version

Anása does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. It has no account, no ads, and no analytics servers. Everything it does happens on your device.

The Accessibility service

Anása works through Android's Accessibility service. This is the only way an app can notice when you open another app, and it is the heart of how Anása steps in. Through it, Anása can see the package name of the app you have in front of you, for example that you opened Instagram, and how long you have been there, measured on your device.

Anása does not read the content of your screen, your messages, your posts, your photos, or anything you type or view. The ability to read screen content is switched off in the app's configuration. The Accessibility service is used only to provide the core feature: pausing you before a distracting app and helping you scroll less. It is never used to collect or share data.

What stays on your device

These are stored only in Anása's private storage on your phone, and never leave it: the apps you chose to guard and any limits or blocks you set; your written or recorded vow, if you make one; counts of how often Anása stepped in and how often you stepped away; and, if you opt in to the optional learning trial, on-device records of when Anása acted and whether a session stopped. You can clear all of it any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Anása.

Permissions, and why

The Accessibility service detects when you open a guarded app. The microphone is used only if you choose to record a spoken vow to yourself, and that recording is saved in the app's private storage on your phone and is never streamed, uploaded, or sent anywhere. Display over other apps, which is optional, only helps the things you do instead, like opening Maps or Messages, launch smoothly. Notifications show the app's quiet running status. Vibration powers the gentle pulse near your daily limit. There is no camera, no location, and no internet permission, so the app cannot connect to the network at all. That is the full list.

Data sharing

None. Anása does not share data with anyone, because it collects none to share. There are no advertising networks, no trackers, and no third-party analytics in the app.

Children

Anása is a general-audience wellbeing tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
